This is truly disgusting. I asked DH (he is a doctor) and he said that it does happen and it isn't only sexual harassment but race, background and physical appearance are also attacked.
DH had a horrible time as an intern as did many of his friends. I have also seen on numerous occasions watched senior consultants being incredibly rude to the interns it often gets very personal. DH now has a teaching role on top of private practice and he often gets told by other consultants that he is to soft on his interns.
I have no idea what the solution is but something must change.
ETA: complaining really isn't an option about anything. It is just not acceptable and regardless of the issue complaining will almost always cause bigger issues than it will solve.
