Default Anyone experienced this? - ulcers in toddler's mouth

DD has a mouthful of ulcers since Sunday night. It started with a fever on Sunday and then we noticed she wasn't eating or drinking due to having ulcers in her mouth and big ones on her tongue. They looked so sore!

I took her to the Dr on Monday and test results came back today. She tested negative for coldsores and hand foot and mouth. I didn't think she had hand foot and mouth as she had no rash anywhere else.

So now I don't know what caused these ulcers. Anyone experienced a heap of mouth ulcers with no known cause?

Hi , sorry to hear your DD is going through this. My DD who is almost 5 also has a mouth full of ulcers and some in her throat.. Dr says it is a contagious virus - which is connected to hand foot and mouth (my DD has no rash on either hand or feet) . He basically said nothing we can do just keep her home from school until the ulcers clear up , which I'm hoping is soon!

Thanks for your reply Pisces75 hope your DD makes a speedy recovery. Luckily today DD has started to eat solids and is back to annoying her brother, so she she must be feeling a lot better too.

Yep. Only a few weeks ago. Also tested for cold sores and hand foot and mouth. But was negative.
Mouth full of ulcers. She was miserable. I think maybe just run down or something. Although her paed said his little one had had something similar a few weeks so too. He said nurofen would help and lots smooth foods! ! Easy to eat.
