Oh just saw this was old and was written when I was going through my own infant hell! I'll leave my answer as it may help someone someday.

Default Have you tried a vibrating bouncer?

My son, god bless him, was the same when he was really little. Just seemed very unhappy

It was just a phase, and now at 15 weeks he's a gorgeous smiling little baby - still can be very clingy when he's tired or cranky but not all the time.

The one thing I did find he liked when he was younger was a vibrating bouncer (he wasn't really interested in any play mats, or toys at first, didn't even like looking at the toys on the bouncer... I think he just liked the vibrations).

Ours was a Fisher Price 'Rainforest Friends' bouncer, it was only about $80 from Target. Gave me my hands back
