Default Tubal ligation reversal - tell me what to expect

My surgery is exactly a week away. Has come around so fast. I'm excited, scared, nervous but looking forward to another baby all at the same time.
Those who have had the surgery, how was your recovery? Pain levels? Will I be able to drive again within a week? Just working out how much time DH needs to take off.
Also did you fall pregnant after the reversal and how long did it take?

    Oh yay, exciting times ahead!
I can definitely answer those questions. Pain wise, my Gyno kept preparing me for a lot of pain but I honestly didn't believe him, thought it would be easier than my c/s, it wasn't. I do still think the pain was worth it!
Driving, I drove on the 3rd day but not again until day 7 when DH went away for work and I started the school runs again.
They recommend not falling pregnant for the first 3 months due to high risk of ectopic. I fell pregnant in my 3rd month, 1st cycle trying. Sadly it ended in a m/c so now I'm waiting for AF to arrive and try again.
Best of luck for your surgery 😀

I had mine done in Adelaide under Dr Bruno Radesic. From memory it was around $1700 out of pocket with private health insurance.

Can I ask what private health fund you were with and what cover you had? I don't think anywhere in Australia does it publicly anymore so I will need to wait the 12month private health waiting period

I have top hospital and extras with Defence health. They covered the whole surgery except my gyno's out of pocket expenses. I spent 2 days in the private hospital after surgery. Some hospitals still do the surgery publicly, you need to get a referral from your doc to send through though. In Adelaide it was anywhere from 6-12 month wait but I didn't want to wait and had it done straight away.
