@ScubaGal - 1st time I had virtually no bleeding. 2nd time I bled on and off (not AF) for literally 6 months! (US ahowed no retained products, just slow to heal). This time bleeding stopped about wk3... so all different. Maybe you need to rest up a bit? Take it easy and see how you go, otherwise go back the your doc to check you dont have any retained products... if it is smelly (TMI) definately get it checked. x

Mine did exactly the same scubagal. Went to spotting then stopped completely for a week. Then came back bright red. I actually thought it was my period lol. But it wasn't.

My bleeding comes and goes too...
Last time I had retained product and I had an awful odour, this time it's just blood thankfully!!
So my little man is being a bit of a pain at the moment. He is not settled And has his witching hours from say 10pm - 7am. He strains and groans and seems so uncomfortable it's awful!! I just can't seem to settle him. I have a toddler so it's really trying as I can't rest in the day and we have very little support.
I'm seeing a lactation consultant on tues and hoping they can maybe help as 1. I don't know what it is that's wrong 2. How to get through it.
It should be a nice time but at the moment we are not enjoying it at all....

@ScubaGal my bleeding had stopped and just started again too.
We decided to do FF as my supply is just not adequate for my little guy. I saw a infant feeding nurse who suggested expressing after each feed so I could top up after each breast feed but he was still hungry and I was so exhausted. He loves formula not to mention he looks like his plumping up a little! The only downside are his poos, they're intense and he gets so upset with gas pains. Overnight he developed nappy rash, even though he was changed each feed.
Question, how long did it take for milk supply to dry up? I'm trying to cut back on BF and do straight FF but want to ensure I do it properly and don't get mastitis or a blocked duct.

I've found not going to bed helped me last night - ie staying warm and dressed, setting up in front of the TV, not trying to put him in his cot etc. it reduced the pressure I was feeling to get him to sleep.

That's harsh nicstar83 and scubagal. It's so hard going in the early days. I know what your saying about letting go of the pressure of making them sleep. Levi sleeps awesome in the night now ( 3 months tomorrow crazy☺️). But only really cat naps in the day I was getting so stressed about it spoke to community midwife and she reassured me all babies are different and he is happy and healthy. So now I have let it go and am so much happier not spending the day trying to make him sleep. I hope your babies start getting better at night. Hope everybody are doing well😘

Yea it sucks @sarahf but just gotta get through it somehow. Last night Jack woke at 130 after a peaceful 3 hour sleep...I fed him and then he was in pain until 430!!! So hard cause I don't know what to do to calm him. From 430 till 630 he finally conked out on me...now feeding again! Gosh it's a lot of feeding 😉 my toddler will come in here in 1 minute then I need to try and get her breakfast and dressed etc for childcare and potentially settle him. Husband thinks he will be out of here in 45 mins from now with her....I don't think so!

@sarahf I was doing the same thing trying to get them to sleep during the day. They would fall asleep but as soon as I put them down they would wake up. I was getting nothing done and I was tired as. I'm lucky that my girl sleeps from 8pm to 4am now and my boy goes down at 8pm but wakes somewhere between 12-2am for a feed and up again around 4. I just let them nap during the day. They just are happy to sit in their bouncers and they just dose off and on and I feed them every 4 hours.
I have finally pulled the pin and have given up on BF. It just became all too hard, my nipples became cracked and sore again and they were not getting enough from me when I was feeding them and then was feeding them formula an hour later after a BF. I am still expressing 2 times a day and get about 150ml each time so I am giving them each one bottle of EBM a day so i am happy with that until all my milk dries up and I run out of the frozen EBM I have.
Hope everyone is going well and looking forward to hearing some more birth announcements. Who's next?
