    I feel the same way.
It would be a very entertaining play to watch, but I feel like it wasn't loyal to the original story. The concept of time in the play was completely different to the concept of time in the books. Those who have read CC will know what I'm talking about. The story itself was terribly cliche. Rowling said the play is part of canon. And I'm really disappointed about that. I cannot accept it as canon. She also said the play would be terrible as a movie. And it really would be.

I'd still pay to see it, though.

I have really high hopes for Fantastic Beasts. With Jo making her screen writing debut, I have a lot of faith. Cannot wait.

Me too - in relation to feeling it was out of step, a bit ridiculous, and not being able to accept it as canon.

In relation to the characters, I particularly feel like the Hermione story (if you've read it, you'll know what I mean) was completely not what would happen. I don't want to go into it too much, but I have too much belief in Hermione as she was presented in the books to believe that that is what would happen.

It would totally suck as a movie

As per her quote when speaking with Scrimgoeour ā€œIā€™m hoping to do some good in the world!ā€

I suppose, though, that what she ended up doing would give her the chance to do just that...her way. But I can see it from both sides. Opinions and world views change with age, so I could still see it going that way. But I do get what you mean.

I can see her ending up in the actual position she finds herself in the play. I was referring more to the alternate no Ron storyline. That just seems completely.... not Hermione.

I hated the Cursed Child. I was angry about the complete book disappointment it gave me for days! Lol. I found the script style a bit crappy - it meant it lacked all the descriptive background I love in novels, but most of all, the storyline was just horrible. It crossed way over into ridiculousness.

Listening to the entire HP series again on audiobook whenever I'm in the car just to make up for it

It read like fan fiction to me. And not a very good one at that....

If she did write it, it would have been a much better story. She still had a part, although not sure how big that part was.

Draco admitting to something he would never admit to if he was a real person (which he is). I couldn't.

Default How is there not a Harry Potter discussion thread??? #2

Well I am very excited. We are going to Ireland in May and whilst we are there it will be my DD1's birthday so I've just booked for us to go to London for 3 nights. I've also booked tickets for the Harry Potter studio tour on her actual birthday https://www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/the-t...he-studio-tour
