We are due to have #3 and we don't currently have the funds to buy a bigger car. We have a 2 year old who is in a "convertible car seat" (birth and up, forget the brand maybe infasecure) and my 7 year old who is just in a booster. We need another car seat that will fit into the back but leave room for the 7 year old to sit!

I've been researching this like crazy. From what I can tell the Maxi Cosi Mico and the Safe n Sound sleep n recline are 44cm wide which is about as narrow as you can get. I'm sure there are others too.

We've got the InfaSecure Kompressor Caprice for my Mum's car and it's 41cm wide at the base, 44cm wide with the wings. As an added bonus it has one of the heighest height markers so you can keep them rear-facing longer.

Thanks ladies! I'll have a look into those. Will have to get a tape measure and measure my backseat!
