    We sold our house!!

Very happy with the result at auction yesterday

We only did very minor renovations. More like a makeover than a renovation actually. New appliances in the kitchen; new bathroom vanity, mirror, tap ware, floor tiles and sprayed the walls; new curtains and some new lights; repainted the entire interior and most of the exterior, and got the house professionally styled (we used about half our furniture).

The house sold for almost double what we paid for it 5 years ago

@witherwings congratulations on a great result. It's amazing what a difference a coat of paint makes - obviously you've done other things but the paint job makes such a dramatic difference for relatively little cost.

It absolutely does! The paint made all the difference! And thanks!

We are in the midst of building a hardwood deck out the back (7mx4.5m) and painting and re-roofing the pergola and in about 2 weeks getting nearly all the windows replaced in our house! Not major wow factor stuff but needs doing nonetheless. Looking forward to the deck as a play space for DD, will be much nicer than the crappy dirty pavers there currently!

Here is our new deck (it's wet as I had just cleaned it ready for oiling tomorrow!). Can kinda see the freshly painted and re-roofed pergola. I am so bl00dy proud of DH for doing this he's so clever and I think it looks amazing! Especially compared to how it was omfg. All done in those yucky old red interlocking pavers and closed in on all sides with hideous cream and heritage green lattice - DH removed 6 non weight bearing posts from the pergola
Next we need to choose and install some privacy screening to go along the fence and put up some hanging plants and our outdoor furniture and lots of outdoor toys for DD as she just loves it outside

Ooooh, so shiny @gingermillie! Looks fabulous!

I did my official exterior selections over the weekend as we were approved for our subdivision.

Next is sanitary ware appliances and taps are next, followed by tiles.

I rang to book in our selections for sanitaryware and appliances and the soonest I can get in is 23 January!

It's very frustrating that we need to make appointments as the last builder we used we could go to these places, find what's in our contract and either tick and say yes we want that or no we want to upgrade or downgrade to item number xyz. Write it on our selections sheets and send it back to the builder.

we can't afford to wait until then!
