Ben Quilty interview on Radio National yesterday morning - this gives a real insight into what the turn around to Myurans and Andrews lives have been in prison, the impact they have on fellow prisoners and the importance of a world with mercy...

I've been thinking about this all day, and stupidly reading the posts on social media. I am shocked at the amount of people (the majority) gleefully jumping up and down at the thought of two people being killed. Yes, the did a terrible and thing , but they have changed their lives completely around, Chan is now a Pastor and Sukumaran is an artist (by all accounts he is very talented) and they both run groups to get other inmates off drugs, they raise money for charities etc.

Where has compassion gone? Second chances? I just don't get it. If everyone was killed for bad choices then half the country would be shot.

I've been thinking the same thing beebs, how can people be so heartless!
And the way it's going to happen, so ********. I can't imagine what it must be like knowing what is coming, it just fills me with dread.
Seems like only a miracle will stop the bullets now :-(

As a country, if we could have, we would have never let a gun man walk into the lyndt cafe and shoot someone at point blank range. We shouldn't let this happen in Indonesia either. What happened to human rights? I am appalled and sickened. These men must be going through hell at the thought of their impending death. It's torture. Just like what the IS militants are doing.
Makes me sick. If they go through with it, I'll never go to Bali again.

I don't believe this is justified or a deterrent to others.
