I hope this is in the right area, huge apologies if it is not.
I start a new job today. Well, technically it's an Induction Day.
I will be working in OOSH at my step-kids school.
I am really really excited. It is casual for now, but they do want to take me on as permanent within 6 months.
Maximum hours are 35, but with a big 5 hour gap in the middle.
So.. I have decided to further my social work studies.
For now, I will just concentrate on the job, and in 3 months start looking into study options.
After working as a nanny for over 8 years, I am so happy to be moving on.
I start at 2pm.
that this is a good fit.

It went really, really well.
Got my uniform and name badge.
Have a roster for next week (only on twice as all the staff we are replacing have their last shifts next week).
My wage is higher than all the new people and almost all the established staff (infact I think only the coordinator and her junior are higher than me)- this is because it is and Award scale, so you are paid based on qualifications and experience.
Very excited. Was hoping to tell the kids this weekend, but their mum has decided to switch weekend on us (so we lose a weekend), so will tell them next week when I see them at work!
