Default Nüby 4+ Month Sippy Cup

My DS uses one of these and I find the teat constantly collapses in and I have to keep adjusting the lid to allow air back into the cup. I've bought him a different cup but he won't accept it so I'm wondering if this is a common problem with this product, am I doing something wrong and can I solve this issue?

I don't have experience with this cup but I have the tommy tippee miomee 4m+ sippy cup and it has never collapsed on itself. It's a great cup

It's driving me crazy but of course DS only wants this cup. Gahhh... So anyone know why or how to fix this?
