Hi ladies, are their any others mums with this condition? How r u feeling? Is this dangerous for the baby ? This is my 4th bub and the first time I have had complications. My levels are low so speeding everything up. Got more bloods done today to check each individual hormone then I guess will see if I have to see a endocrinologist any advice would b helpful very concerned :/

I got hypothyroidism with my first pregnancy.
I was put on thyroxine and sent off to see and endocrinologist.
    My LO is fine.
The endocrinologist told me that only really extensive, untreated disease would cause problems with the baby.

    Default Hyperthyroidism and pregnancy.

I was checked at 6 weeks and started 50mcg thyroxine. Had it monitored since but no dramas, no symptoms and have not needed to see endocrinologist.

As long as it is monitored and medicated there is no need to worry

Ps. Mine is hypo so underactive and I had no symptoms but pregnancy just put it over the edge.

I have Graves' disease (overactive thyroid), currently in remission. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and at 6 weeks my endocrinologist picked up that my thyroid had gone under active, so I'm currently on thyroxine.

I'm seeing my endocrinologist every 4 weeks because there's a chance it'll flip back into over active... It can't make up its mind!

I didn't have these problems with my DS so it makes me nervous. I'm interested in the replies.

Hope your pregnancy is a smooth one. ☺️

Did you have any antibodies? Maybe that's what they are testing for. When my thyroid was over active I was put on a drug called PTU, which I believe is safe for pregnancy. That medication helped pretty quickly.

Hope you get your results soon!
