Hi everyone. Just wanted to know what experiences you may have had re cramping in your 2nd trimester? I'm 18wks along and since my 2nd trimester started I've had lower abdominal cramping every other day...much like period pain. No spotting, just the cramping and my lower abdomen gets heavy during the cramping. Once I lay down it feels fine, it's just when I'm walking around (work etc...)

I have had some and asked my OB, apparently cramping in that area can be due to your uterus growing and we can expect leg cramping too... Oh joy.
I always double check my worries with OB or GP, it might be a good idea for you to double check... That always reassures me

I'm 22 weeks and started getting the same sort of cramping a few weeks ago as well - it worries me because everywhere I read about ligament pain it seemed to talk about it being higher. I spoke with my doctor last week and he wasn't worried at all, apparently it is normal and to only be concerned if there is spotting or bleeding with the cramping.
I find it helps to drink lots of water - mine get worse if I'm a bit dehydrated. I'm also doing an antenatal aqua aerobics class and that has helped a lot too, stretching and strengthening without the weight on your pelvis - I highly recommend it! 😊👍
