    Default WWYD? DD stay overnight?

    I'm torn and not sure- I have 2 options for Saturday night- going out for my belated birthday dinner. Dd turns 2 on Friday. I have never left her overnight.

    A. My parents have offered to have her overnight. It means dd (and my parents) probably won't get any sleep and I'll fret a bit. I'm still breastfeeding before bed and once in the early morning but she can be put down without it if I'm not there. It also means I get a sleep in (first time in months) so I can stay out as late as I want.

    B. My inlaws watch her for the evening. We live together so she should sleep ok as it's in her own cot. But it means an early wake up for me (dd is up by 6am).

    So what would you do? Curious to know as I'm unsure.

    Start with A if your parents aren't too far away. Worst comes to the worst you can pick her up on the way home.

    I'd pick b only because it's the normal environment for your dd and Ur inlaws should know the routine....however, they should let you sleep in for your bday....can't your dp get up to her if the inlaws can't?

    You would think so but no. It's my birthday today and I was still up before 6. They are all not morning people and the *****ing and moaning for the rest of the day about how tired they are is simply not worth it.

    Eta: they have never bothered offering either. Same with DH.

    I'd say A, I'm sure your parents would love having your Dd for the night and you get a sleep in!

    I'd choose A, it doesn't sound like your in-laws would take very good care of her if they complain about being woken up. If you're worried about leaving her overnight, plan to pick her up on the way home if your mum can't settle her or if she's wanting you. But chances are she'll be fine, they're pretty adaptable
