Default Which cake should I make?

My daughter is going to stay at her grandparents tomorrow. I thought we might bake a cake together to take with her. Any ideas for a simple yummy cake? I'm thinking maybe a lemon cake or vanilla cake...

Do you have a food processor? I have a lovely, easy whole orange cake recipe that is delish.

I tend to make my icing quite thin though so my finished cake looks like this :

Thanks for the replies, we made a simple Apple cake. I found the recipe on the kid spot website.

It looks delicious but I can't taste it as I'm sending it off with my parents when they pick the kids up for the weekend, I can't really send it with one slice missing.

Cut it all up "to make life easier for them" .. They wouldn't notice the one missing piece
