    Default Walking buddy

    Walking buddy - doreen
Hi. Im a 30 year old new mum from doreen. I have a son that was born nov 3rd last year.
Im looking for anyone to pal up with and go for walks.
im a bit nervous of mothers group as i get a bit of social anxiety and im only really good with a small group of people.
I do feel a little bit stuck inside all day as i have a difficuilt baby sith reflux and we usually have to leave most social occasions early coz he is screaming.
Id love to get out of the house and walk with the pram of there would be someone understanding if he cries or screams lol.

Please excuse the spelling mistake. Trying to write and hold a crying baby is hard.

Did your maternal health nurse give you a mothers group ? Ours was only 6 mums and we understood when babies were screaming. Just a small group and we did weekly catch ups at each others houses or walking with prams.

I would catch up if I was local but I'm in brisbane now.

Yes we did have one but by the time i rsvp.d it was booked out. I live in a new estate so there really needs to be a couple of mothers groups.

Contact your maternal health nurse as she might have contacts for you or do you have a doctor/ specialist you see for your bub as they might have a group of mothers you could join.

Another way I met mummy friends was baby classes but they can sometimes be bigger classes.

I wish I could help more because getting out is important for both of you.

Hi Kelbel, congrats on your bub! I live in Doreen too (Riverstone Estate). I don't have a bub, but a boy whos starting prep at Laurimar Primary next week! We are planning on TTC towards the end of this year though. I'll be going for walks every morning after I drop him off if you'd like to come.
