I actually can't remember the last time I used the normal cord vacuum.
This is the same for me too!
Except we have a very high shedding dog instead of two cats but I also have vanished out normal vacuum cleaner to the shed!!!

I have I think the dc45 animal hand held and it's awesome. I've got some wrist problems at the moment and it does make it tricky though but so much easier than getting out the big vacuum and is so much better than the cordless Electrolux thing we had.

Thankyou so much for this thread. I went in search for one a week ago and found the price a bit much. I left it and thought nothing more of it until I saw this thread. I am now a new proud owner and very impressed by how well it works.

I have the DC35 and love it! Use it every day without fail just to run around the house downstairs plus do the staircase oh and after small children eat. I'd say it's the best thing I've bought for the house.
Ours broke so I called Dyson and they sent a brand new head out within a few days.

Definitely! Well depending on the size of your house! I do a really thorough vacuum with the barrel Dyson (cos I have inside pets) once a week and just do a quick go over most nights with the stick. I think you can get about 20 mins out of a charge on the normal setting but if you use boost mode (not sure if this is on all models?) you get around 8 mins. Doesn't sound much but I only use the boost mode when I'm doing the carpet where the dog lies down, or when using the upholstery attachment on the couches etc...the rest of the house I just use the normal mode and it's never gone flat on me. We have about 22square house I reckon you could get away with just having this and not a normal vacuum if your house wasn't too big?

@Angels4me, I've also just seen they are $298 at jb Hifi and at good guys as well. I guess they must be trying to run the stock out.

We have a DC59 animal. It's the best purchase ever. We use it as our only vacuum on floorboards, tiles and carpet. We have 2 hair shedding medium size dogs. On top of the suction & cleaning dog hair off their lounge, I love not having to plug in a vacuum from room to room. Vacuuming is now no longer a big cleaning event!

Hi ladies, just to clarify is the DC45 good enough to pick up cat hair or do you really have to get the animal handstick?

    Thanks
