    Shrimp paste. Omgeeee. Bought it once to make authentic nasi goreng. .... And my house stunk for days just from opening the little jar. That stuff is putrid. Makes me want to barf!!

    Oh. .. And anything that says some weird oil I would never have the cupboard.

    Buttermilk.. You end up buying a big carton for a very small amount used, and there's not a lot else to use it for except pancakes!

    Shrimp paste, sesame oil and a few other Asian ingredients that I find a little gross to use..

    The whole/fresh form of a spice like coriander seeds or cinnamon sticks- I'd like to know the ground spice equivalent, thanks!!

    I Google that equivalent when I don't have fresh

    And I think I have googled how to make buttermilk before - I needed it for red velvet cake

    To add to this, American recipes in general. I cbf working out oz and lb into cups.

    @GM01 my stepdad drinks leftover buttermilk lol. I thought it was so gross, he made me try it and really it just tastes like runny natural yoghurt! I wouldn't drink it though!
