Sorry to hear this. You probably don't notice me but I'll miss seeing you around the forum.

As much as I don't 'know' you, I know you'd leave a rather large hole if you left. You're a highly respected hubber!

But that's not really cool. I want my family there, even if I don't really want anyone else. Well, df's sisters. That's about it. And I would still need thousands to do it.
So then I think, stay closer to home, say we are having a party and if you can come that's great, don't stress if you can't and then spring the wedding on the guests at the party. Two of df's mates have done that. Which is still a lovely idea, but either way, I would still need money for it.
There is no two ways about it- even if I were to do the second option, I would still want a photographer, my hair and makeup done and a nice dress (even if it isn't a full blown gown) plus new clothes for the kids, plus celebrant, marriage licence, venue hire and food etc etc.

Bottom line is I need to go back to work. This is the route of all our problems. Or maybe if I dig deeper its the actual education system itself, where a highly qualified and motivated teacher is begging for work and can not find a single job while unqualified and inexperienced nits walk out of uni and into the classroom with no idea what they're doing. (And yes, I know I was once a nit, but at least 50% but I would say more of all jobs advertised locally are for graduates, and another 40% to level 1, and another 8% is for specialist positions... What chance do I have when only 2% of jobs advertised I can apply for, and no doubt I'm not the only one in this position?!)

Errr... And here endeth my rant
I love both those ideas. Especially the dreamworld one. You could always give your family plenty of notice and they could come for a gorgeous sunny ceremony and shower you with a lovely reception as a gift to you

I also love the "come for a party that turns out to be our wedding" scenario. Although I went to an engagement party like that a few years ago. In their carport. And apparently they got married a month earlier. It was kind of weird. But turning up to a NYE party and having it be a wedding would be cool.
Only thing I will say, a woman at work, her daughter did this and didn't let her in on it and she was heartbroken. So maybe mum's would have to know ahead of time!

I am humbled by such beautiful women who I respect do much saying such lovely things and this is the good. The connection I have in women I haven't met. The trust I've put in your hands, in the mods, admins and managers hands. I feel hurt tonight but I'm sure it will pass.

Thank you for reminding me why I'm still here xxxxxxxx

I missed whatever your referring to (I think), thankfully, but it must have been bad for you to express your upset. Big hugs.
