You are all inspiring me so much. I think I need to learn how to sew. I have my 42-43 year old machine, I think it needs to come out of the cupboard. Thank gosh it still has the instruction book!

What would you amazing sewers recommend a newbie try for a first project? I have 2 boys and would love to make them some cute shorts but not sure if that's aiming to high?! I have no one to teach me so need some nice basic things or good tutorials on you tube. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
