Default When do kids learn how to tie their shoelaces?

My daughter is 4, should I start teaching her now, or is that too young?

I bought my son a book that had the laces attached to teach him. Most shoe shops also has a handout about teaching kids to tie laces, which has lace attached too. I have been trying to teach my son for 1 and half years now, hopefully he will get it soon. He is 6.
