@tjuls with the Elonva FSH its only 1 single injection!! It replaces the daily injections of FSH drugs in IVF. So my antagonist injections start saturday to prevent my eggs hatching, then monday I get a scan to check my response. If I need a top up of FSH I jump on another drug. Cant remember what it is. So I have had it easier than most. Maybe its a Primary thing? No one else seems to be on Elonva or even heard of it! Its newish in Aus.

Hey Ladies! sorry for the dealy..I was quite busy and still waiting for af. But now it's here! today is day 1 and I've just come back from my 1st blood test. Nurse said I'll get a call this afternoon to pick up meds today or tomorrow. It's still hard to realise that finally we're starting! I'm not too scared about the needles, but still worried about the surgery! @Billie2 I just have 2 meds on my Diary: Elanva and Orgalutran..and Ovidrel of course. They didn't prescribe anything else. did you get any other meds??
How is it going so far? @tjuls good luck for next week!!

Ah @Billie2. I getcha now. Sorry all the meds are so confusing! I think it must be a primary ivf thing because my friend who is going through Westmead is on the daily injections. Well, I guess being on Elonva is good in that there is only one injection!..haha..
@Danymatthew - looks like you are on the meds as Billie2. I'm so happy and excited you both are off the bench and stimming!!!
Keep me posted on ur experiences- I'm very keen on hearing about it

Is there a standard dosage on the Elonva?
20-11-2015 12:37 #155
@tjuls I had 150 Elonva. Which contradicts the brochue for Elonva, as I am 50kg. >60kg is 150. Who knows!
@Danymatthew congrats on cd1! Prepare yourself to carry the little blue cooler bag and a plastic bag full of drugs! Good luck on your first injection tomorrow! Im on Puregon FSH as well as Elonva! I start Orgalutran tomorrow. Puregon starts monday. Im confusing myself!!

Hi ladies, we are looking at our options for IVF/ICSI so thought I'd jump onboard here to follow your experiences with Primary How do Primary undertake egg collection? Twilight sedation? We have an appt on Dec 15th. We've already had all our pre testing, police and child checks along with counselling undertaken at another clinic within the last 2 months and were geared up to start in the new year but have now heard about Primary. I'm not sure if the pre work we've done will count for anything or if we will need to do it again?

Update: picked up my meds yesterday. As soon as I saw the full blue bag I wanted to cry!!! Then went to get instructed by the nurse. The funny thing is that I'm starting with injections today, which is Saturday..it means that I will get also the 1st one by myself!. I also have purgeon, which will start from day 8 if I remember right. I asked for side effects and they told headeaches and mood swings should be the only possible ones. 1st scan will be on wed 25/11. @Billie2 did you pay for all the meds? can you claim them from medicare or private fund? I paid $150.
@onedaymaybebaby so far my experience is absolutely positive. each one has been helpful and kind. the only "quick" and "cold" appointment was the 1st one with the GP. therefore don't count on that too much.
Everything is scheduled in an efficiend way, fast and lots of tests done.
They told me that egg collection will be a 30 min procedure with a light total sedation and I will be fully awake by the end already. 2 days of rest recommended, but there shouldn't be any major pain afterwards.
I confirm they'll ask to redo all the tests, but no police and child checks required.
No payment required so far, except for a particular blood test my partner did.

@Danymatthew woo hoo now we are on same page. My first injection by myself is tonight. I will be fine, I have to be. Ive been so sick throwing up yesterday I had to ring the nurse after hours. Hoping its just heat or bug related. Im ok today, still a bit off but Im out shopping right now. Good luck, my Elonva ached afterward, not while the injection happened. Its a big one to start with! I have my scan & bt monday morning. You will be at the clinic same day as @tjuls !!

@Danymatthew yes mine was $150 as well! I nearly died when I saw all the scripts. We have the same plan. The chemist lady said "just the usual" to her assistant! I thought what the hell? Far from usual for me thanks!
