All up, DH and I have 7 between us: our own everyday account, car savings, house deposit savings, travel savings, bills account and other savings account. Plus an account for DD and I guess we'll open one for DS soon.

Bit weird but works for us.

    Heaps.
    Mortgage
Joint offset account (daily spending, pays get deposited here)
Old joint account with a different bank which is now only used to transfer money into to be paid off our CCs
Baby savings (which is currently empty with no plans for another baby yet lol)
    Car services
    Clothing / Medical / Vet
    Council rates
    Electricity bills
    Gifts
    Luxuries (hairdresser, etc)
    Car rego, insurance, green slip
Uni savings (I won a scholarship but deferred so have the money in there)
    Water bills

I have direct debits set up from our joint account on pay day for all of the sub-accounts. I would have more so I don't have to combine things like clothing / medical / vet but the limit is 10 lol

    3.

My husband gets his wages paid into his business account which always has about $500 for his monthly insurances like workers comp and public liability and other business expenses.

The rest of his wages get transferred into our offset account that the mortgage cones out of.

I have a separate account with a different bank that my pay goes into and that pays majority of the rest of the bills.

Everyday account (which is an offset)
    Savings account
    Mortgage
    Credit card

Also I have recorded all my income and expenses in a 'money' program for the last 15 years. I can tell you to the last cent how much we have earned and spent over this time. But I still can seem to stop over spending.
