I am an ex-single Mum I dated guys solely from online, most successfully (and safely) from RSVP, till I met my husband. I totally recommend online dating, but be sensible, take it slow, meet in very public places, keep details about yourself private (address, workplace etc) and enjoy!

As for finding the time to actually meet, I actually met up with my husband (after having been introduced by a friend and chatting on FB for a couple weeks) for 45 minutes while my daughter was at her school disco! We met at a bar nearby, I had time to drink half a glass of wine then had to dash off!

Can you ask a friend to mind your little one for an hour while you meet for coffee maybe?

dating as a single mum is certainly incredibly difficult and different to the alternative. I actually managed to date really good men though. I was always upfront and honest about my daughter (who I have 100% time) and very strict with who I spoke to, let alone met up with, and it seemed to weed out the weirdos.

good luck, there's hope on the other side. I'm now 3 months married and 3 months pregnant with my second, his first, to a wonderful man who has taken my daughter on as his own, and is now her Dad

This is what I dream about every day, I am an ex wife with 100% care of my DD and hope to meet a guy that'll take on dd like his own and hopefully marry him and bear his children.

I met my DP on RSVP nearly 18 months ago. We are madly in love and about to get pre approval for a home loan so that we can buy a house together.

I had heard lots of horror stories too, but I struck it very lucky and met DP just a week after I opened my RSVP account. I preferred to meet people sooner rather than later. You just can't tell if there's a spark or chemistry until you meet in person, so I didn't want to waste time chatting online to men who I potentially wouldn't 'click' with.

I went on one date the day before I met DP. Wasn't at all attracted to that guy. Met DP the next day and knew within 30 minutes that I really liked him and since that day we've been inseparable.

You and I both! Wouldn't that be great. I had just begun creating my family when exH left and I'm not finished! Hoping to meet mr right but will definitely take it slow.

Well, this may sound impatient but I've done a weeks worth of online dating on a few different sites now and... I've come up with a bag full of duds. Is it too much to hold a conversation with an articulate man? Blah!

I just wonder what I'm doing wrong? I meet heaps of single guys in my meetup groups but there never seems to be that spark you know ? Sigh. I think it's just not meant to be for me.

This is hilarious! It's totally gross, isn't it!!! I think taking selfies in a public toilet is also one of my personal favs!

Geez! Meeting them in the flesh is a good start. I can't even score one who can type a word on a keyboard. I'm sure you'll find someone when it's completely unexpected.
