    Default Sciatica in pregnancy

So I am 24 weeks pregnant with second bub and have been in agony for about 6-8 weeks with sciatica.
I have been having physio but doesnt give much relief. My doctor told me tne pain will get worse as bub grows. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I had weird nerve pain when I was pregnant. Not sure if it was my sciatic nerve or a different one. It shot down to my right foot. I wore SRC pregnancy shorts which helped somewhat with the nerve pain, and a lot with my general back/pelvic pain. I got them second hand off eBay. Swimming helped (the heated hydrotherapy pool was heaven!). It did get worse as I progressed, but went away pretty much straight after birth. Sorry I've not got more helpful advice!

I had sciatica when pregnant with my 3rd. It wasnt too bad, more annoying than anything. Sleeping on my side with a pillow between my knees helped a bit, and doing stretches recommended to me by my midwife helped as well. It eased right off almost immediately after she was born, still got really uncomfortable sometimes especially if i had been sitting for long periods of time.

It came back with a vengeance during my 4th pregnancy. Pain killers, hot baths/showers, sleeping with my hips and legs propped up with pillows helped a little. I found heat packs were the best thing though. I used those nurofen disposable ones (they are safe to use) were wonderful. Dh also bought me a hot water bottle which gave me the most relief. Didnt take it away completely but definitely took the edge off enough i could sleep. It eased right off again after she was born although i still have constant twinges and if ive been sittinf for a while it gets really bad. The hot water bottle still gets a work out a fair bit.
