DJ Nette 9000 is excellent! I couldn't get that unless I specifically went for a walk. I have had a gastro bug and didn't leave my bed pretty much at all yesterday. I'm feeling a bit better now but I doubt I'll be ready to do 10,000 today. You'll notice the difference with your desk job.

Well I weighed in for my 6 month dietbet today. Need to lose 9.7kg in 6 months to get all my money back (10% of my starting weight 96.8). My first month's goal is 2.9kg to get the first instalment. I should be able to do that if I don't go too crazy on the eating and get close to 10,000 steps a day...hopefully!!

We can do it girls! I'm on myfitnesspal religiously now and I know I eat reasonably healthy but it's the finishing the kids meals that really pushes me over, bad habit I need to break.
Happy to friend anyone on there too if it means we'll be stronger

I found this cool idea on Pinterest where you get 2 glass jars and fill one up with pebbles. Each pebble represents 500g. When you lose 500g a pebble goes into the empty jar. I like having the visual in front of me and I especially like it when I can drop a pebble from the full jar into the empty jar

Thanks Mmumm and Qrazelna. I have been on MFP on and off for years. It's great in tandem with the activity trackers because you can definitely see that you are eating more/less than expenditure.
I'm having a break from it as I always eventually get a fatigue from completing my diary a few months in. Then I stop tracking for a few days and go crazy with food because I'm not tracking. I'm trying to find what works for me in the long term. Because of my previous tracking I am at least aware of the calories in most foods. I think I mentioned before I'm using a photo journal to see if that makes me eat more mindfully. Will friend you both when I get back on there though.
Qrazelna love that two jar idea. Definitely going to do something like that!
The challenge should be doable. They have it structured so you lose more in the first months and learn to maintain (%3, 3, 2, 1, 1, 0). I always hit a plateau if I ever get beyond a couple of months so I guess this makes sense. Anyway, thanks for your encouragement and I'll see how I go!

How accurate is the calories burnt on fitbit, it just seems really high

For a few days i kept track of how many calories i ate and i wore my heart rate monitor for accurate calories burnt through exercise. When i added what i burnt through exercise to my bmr, i found it was extremely close to what my fitbit said so it seems like a pretty good estimate
