    Default Sauna benefits?

I have ordered a sauna tent for DH for Christmas to help with his arthritis and was wondering what other benefits it would have? Will it help with weight loss? Will it help with detoxification? Will it help relieve DOMS? I figure there is a reason most gyms have saunas and would like to know what those reasons are

Unfortunately a sauna won't help with weight loss - all it does is make you sweat and obviously for weight loss you need to have a higher energy output than input, not just lose fluids.
I'm not sure what you're trying to detox from, I have no idea if the sweating might be cleansing to your skin but detoxing your insides is a myth, our livers perform that function
I have no idea if it would help with DOMS - I'd be interested to know some feedback. I kind of like DOMS though, it makes me feel like I've achieved something!! Although in saying that my legs have hurt so much at times before than sitting down on the toilet is torture!

I've been a member of 7 gyms in my life and only 1 had a sauna.
It might help with helping flexibility - you'd need to do some stretches whilst you're in there and the muscles are all nice and warm - perhaps something to look into? (I have no idea if it would help with flexibility, just a theory based on our muscles are more giving when they are warm. I would imagine you'd need to exercise then sit in the sauna and stretch.

I kind of figured using it for weightloss was a myth because as soon as you had a drink it would all come back on. The detox is skin, we live in a small town that is surrounded by 6 coal mines so no matter how much you clean there is always coal dust around. I suffer from fibromyalgia so would like to avoid DOMS wherever possible
