DS1 had grommets put in in August last year just after he turned 2. They were checked in July and were both still in place. The ENT commented that they were lasting better than average and we go back in May next year for another check. I think they are still in place and am starting to wonder what happens if the grommets don't fall out on their own. Does anyone know how long the dr would leave them in or would they operate to take them out?
Also, I'm starting to think about getting DS1 into swimming lessons. We've tried to avoid submerging his head so far because of the grommets. Do you think we should wait until they are definitely out, get something to plug his ears with or just let him go for it?
