Love how going down to the shop to get a few things now means $100 on average. 😫

Seriously why is it so hard to get a referral to sleep school?

Last time I saw the gp she referred me to a lady to try first & then said to come back or go to child health if that didnt work.

It didnt work, I now cant get in with my gp but didnt think that was a drama as I had a child health nurse appointment today.

Well that was a waste of time. She told me he was doing well (which I already know cause im his mum) & then said she couldnt just give me a referral to Ellen Barron - id need to gonhome & try the 'strategies' she gave me (which are all things ive tried a hundred times before) for the next two weeks then if they dont work I have to go back & then she'll do a referral. Yhis has been going on for 6 months. Nothing works. Why do I have to keep waiting? I have to go back to work in May & last time I calked Ellen Barron they had a 3 month wait. So by the time ive waited another two weeks ill barely get in before I have to go back to work.

So thats it. I just give up. Ill spend over an hour each sleep all day every day rocking him cause nothing else works. Daycare can hopefully break that habit for me in May.

Yesterday after trying to get her to sleep for 2.5 hrs I left her in her cot to put the boys to bed and she went into psychotic screaming mode, I came back but then decided to give her some medicine (cutting molars) and she completely lost it and jumped out of her cot. I heard a thump and cake back in to find her getting up off the floor.
Last night it took over an hour to get her to sleep, and by 10 she was awake and wanting to party again. I got into bed with her and she just tolled around squawking until midnight when we had some dymadon. (Hence my late night posting) I finally got her to sleep and then she is up at 5:30 ready to start the day!
The hours of sleep she is losing each night is mounting and I'm just about at breaking point.
I might just dose her up before her bedtime and see how we go...
My youngest had sleep issues like this for about 3 weeks. We both hit the point of sheer exhaustion and I took him to the GP and asked for her to find the off switch. She didn't find anything wrong but suggested I worm him. That was the issue, sleep went back to normal that night!

You poor thing..I've been there. We went to karitane ( we're in Sydney) and it changed our lives. Don't take no for an answer. I can't believe they'd make you wait.

Feel free to pm me if you want to chat..i can share the tips I learnt there.
