OK so I am not proud of myself but we've been TTC #2 for 9 months with no result and on Friday afternoon I had my work Christmas party.
I was convinced I was not pregnant as with my first I just 'knew' even before I had a pregnancy test and I thought the same would happen this time around.
I tested negative on Thursday and honestly thought I was out for the month again and was already planning on seeing an FS in the new year.
So I ended up drinking about 3/4 champagne and 2 wines over the course of 5 hours.
I took a test the morning after on a hunch and it was positive. I was 8 or 9 DPO at that stage.
I am worried sick that I might have harmed my unborn baby especially at this precious stage of development.
Mainly I am so mad at myself for doing something so stupid and I've just added a layer of stress, worry and guilt to what should be a happy experience.
I am just looking for similar experiences and honest opinions on my situation.
Thanks in advance.

Alcohol in early pregnancy

Don't beat yourself up! At that stage the baby is not connected to your blood supply through the placenta so it would have no effect at all.
As long as you don't drink now you know, you and the baby will be fine.
And congratulations! Xx

Hugs! I did almost exactly the same thing. I vividly remember downing a few wines and complaining that it was taking so long to get pregnant. Next week I got a bfp! I would never advise drinking while pregnant, but I sure bub will be okay. Mine is now 5 months old and happy and healthy. My first born was a surprise as we weren't TTC and I got on the **** a week or so before getting a bfp with him too. Oops!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Don't stress about it it's unlikely you've done any harm, and I'd say most women have had alcohol without knowing they are newly pregnant. I have twice.

Congrats! Sooo many of us have done exactly as you have. Try not to worry too much. I was snowboarding in Japan eating sushi drinking sake then found out on my return I was 9 weeks pregnant!! She just turned 5 and is perfect

Your baby will be just fine At this stage he or she isn't even sharing a blood source with you let alone a placenta. They are feeding off the sac much like a baby chicken does in a hen's egg. I got off my face with my first in pretty much identical circumstances. I didn't think I was pg. DD is a perfectly healthy, bright little girl .
Relax no harm has be done.

When we were ttc no. 1, AF was due on the day we were going out to celebrate DH's birthday with mates at a restaurant where the wine was free with the purchase of a main meal 😲. It was our 4th cycle of trying and I felt like AF was coming, tested that morning, was a bfn so proceeded to get rotten drunk at the birthday celebration.
Well you know where this is going...I was indeed pregnant and my perfect 8 and a half year old DS is currently playing pictionary in the lounge room.
All will be fine. Congratulations.
