Default 'White elephant' style secret Santa

DH's work is doing a white elephant secret Santa, the one where you don't buy for a particular person you just buy a gift and each person gets to choose one. Anyone done this before? I would love some ideas! All I can think of is chocolate (which I'm sure most people will buy), alcohol or scratchies, but being a charity who have an anti gambling hotline I don't think those ideas would be allowed....help! It's a $15 limit

My go to white elephant secret Santa are a movie gift card or a coffee gift pack from somewhere like Gloria jeans.

What about trying a shop like Typo? They have heaps of stuff for about $15, nice diaries, calendars, coffee mugs, alarm clocks, passport holders, homewares... It's my 'go to' for secret santa!

Movie voucher is a good idea, but with the $15 limit do you think it's ok to just give a single ticket?

DH does a white elephant SS for work and he usually buys a joke present, he got a really ugly flamingo from a junk shop one year. This year he is getting as many red pens as he can for $15 (teacher)..
