Hi All. Looks like we are heading back to a fertility clinic. We saw a specialist 2 years ago now and we were told that our weight was the problem with ttc. I have lost 49kgs. Hubby has lost 48kgs and still no baby. Not even a positive test. I would just like some advice and recommendations on clinics in Perth. Northern Suburbs. The clinic i went to i didnt like. Also, has seeing a councillor helped you at all? I am a bloody mess with all of this.

I'm sorry you are having trouble conceiving, but I just wanted to say that is a major effort both of you losing that amount of weight! You should be congratulated for your effort.
We were in a similar situation, both lost a heap of weight with no success getting pregnant. It just seems so unfair when you work so hard to see other people fall pregnant so easily.
We had success with Pivet in Leederville, but they do weigh you & you have to have a BMI under 35 to start treatment there. Fertility North in Joondalup might be another option although I have not been there.
I would highly recommend seeing a counsellor, pretty sure all fertility clinics have one specialising in fertility issues. I feel it helped us when we were losing hope.
I hope you find a clinic that suits you & have a short road with fertility treatment. Although it didn't seem to impact my fertility, I feel that losing weight & being fitter has helped with pregnancy (via IVF), delivery & motherhood so keep up the good work!
Our ICSI cycle with pivet cost around $8500. You get about $5000 back from Medicare, all the day surgery costs were covered by our PHI.

Healthy BMI that's awesome! If you do go with Pivet be warned their leederville clinic is super busy - i got there one morning 20 min before opening & was about 10th in line for BT's, they get through everyone quickly though. I was a bit overwhelmed to see so many women all going through the same thing.
We cycled at Hollywood too, before going to pivet - much quieter in the mornings but it wasn't a good fit for us personally. Similar pricing.

I'm at Hollywood and love it there. There is good and bad reports about every clinic so its a tough one. But I honestly have had fantastic service from the receptionist to the drs.
Good luck and great job on the weight loss!

I just can't believe the cost involved with this process. It so daunting. The fact that you're so desperate for a chile but have to pay thousands upon thousands of dollars to even have the chance to possibly fall pregnant when there's people out there accidentally getting pregnant and not wanting the baby. Makes me sad.
