Just between you ladies and I Christmas make me a little emotional. ...
Not sure.why but it does I guess because of the people that are no longer in my life and that my kids are growing too fast and the gifts that I can no long buy my kids because they are too old now ....I shead a little tear while Christmas shopping the other day...but it really hits home on Christmas morning when my children are asleep......I am the first to wake and I put the lights on the tree and turn the music up loud to an old Elvis Christmas song to Teel them it's time to wake and do the presents .. While holding back the tears... The last few years have really been tough for me and I'm not the strong person I use to be but I'll get their .

I dont have kids but I get emotional at xmas too.. Im sad that I wont have a baby at christmas for everyone to fuss over, my grandma has been diagnosed with her 3rd brain tumour so it could very well be her last xmas and I wont be there - she lives interstate (as does my whole family) and im on night shift for the holiday week.. @purpleflowers @NurseAnni and @Mum2b87 massive hugs to you all.
Christmas is an odd time isn't it? Whether you are religious or not.
I'm not but I find it highly charged emotionally.
I want everyone to be spoilt. I want everyone to have a special treat to open and I want everyone to indulge in their favourite foods.
I get sad when people don't want to spend it with family, or don't have family to share it with. I think about all of that and I get emotional.
Im excited about DS's first Christmas. I'm sad for DF that his sister and BIL have upset him and also won't be around for Christmas. I'm sad for my sister whose BF is a bit of a d.ck and for my dad because my mum is not here. It's been 20 years but I remember how much effort she made at Xmas for everyone to be happy and spoiled.
I hope this time is filled with warmth and love even if those things don't come from traditional sources like mums and kids xxx

Hugest of hugs to those who find this time of year difficult. I'm beginning to enjoy Christmas again after many years. Christmas Day is the day that my older brother never woke up. My mum says each year she wishes she could skip from November to January. This year marks 13 years since that day and I find that I'm enjoying the day through my children.
Big hugs to those struggling xxx

I have mixed emotions when it comes to Xmas. I lost my dad to cancer recently and its so hard to celebrate without him. He loved the grandchildren and was so excited to see them open their presents.
But at the same time it is becoming exciting for me because my kids are 2.5yrs and 5yrs and really starting to become excited and getting involved in the celebrations.
I am also nervous that they wont be excited or like what I have bought them! I have tried to take notice when they point things out in catalogues etc!
