Won't be her sitting on the grass. She's a grown up so gets to sit at the big table.

I would tell her you don't believe in that, that children should sit in the old fashioned way on a blanket on the grass

But they might make her grass dirty!

Love how this has turned into a discussion about the table when I really put it up because of the comment about the tablet!

Asked SIL a question about kids tablets - she knows lots about technology, thought she may be able to recommend a brand. This is the reply I got. She's been judging everything lately, including the fact that I serve supermarket party pies at my kids birthday parties.
Sorry to jump in but incase you still didn't have a recommendation on a tablet DH got our kids Samsung tablets for their first and it's what my Mum gave our niece and the kids loved them and figured them out quick

Not long after we moved in together we had a little house warming party and DH had a few beers and MIL marched straight over to me and said "He never drank that much when he lived at home I hope you don't put to much stress on him" I was dumbfounded but then DH told her about all the times him and his mate would sit in his room drinking that she never knew about. Don't know if I mentioned this one but my parents always spoil their grandkids with attention, affection and gifts and once when MIL was over a little battery car turned up from my Mum because she saw it cheap and wanted to get it for her, well DD loved it and kept sitting in it to play and MIL grabbed her out of it and made her sit with her even though she clearly wanted to be in her car and went on about how she loves her more then my Mum even if my Mum buys her more gifts.

Yep I agree. Its a bonus that you can download things to them as well instead of purchasing through itunes. I think we've well and truly ditched apple products in our family now. Samsung are great!

You should have sent a reply saying you don't believe kids should be seated separate from adults as it is patronizing towards them...

I wanted to. At the moment I'm trying not to rock the boat too much. She already has the other SIL hating her.
