My XMIL has passed away. She was a pretty good MIL really. Although, she let DS1 have coffee off a teaspoon when he was six months old, tried to feed him banana at three months old and suggested we let DS1 go with her and XFIL in their car without a car seat when he was a baby.

A comment about a grandma giving naturpathic drops without the parents knowledge made me think of this craaazy response from my ex mil. One of her other grandchildren was not vaccinated as her parents didn't believe in vaccinating their child.
MIL: you know *said child* isn't vaccinated? What do you think about that?
ME: each to their own. I would vaccinate my kids but i'm sure they have their own well researched reasons
MIL: Well I think it's negligent. Next time I babysit i'm going to take *said child* to my doctor and get them done
ME: Ah, you can't do that. That's wrong.
MIL: I don't care. She's my grandchild and I will take her . I know better than them and their hippy ways. I'm a nurse
ME: Ahhh they're the parents????
MIL: So they should do it but they're not. My doctor will do it if I tell him to
