Nereid.... congrats on being PUPO. So your embies thawed out well, that's great. When is your BT?

AFM... I'm also PUPO, as of this morning, as I've had an IUI with donor sperm. I know the chances are quite low with IUI, but it was more for peace of mind, to know that I've tried all the different options before we go to SA. They kept me lying there for 15 minutes afterwards, to give chance for the sperm to swim when it needs to go - wondering if that's a proven thing to help or just an old wive's tale :-)

Good luck @MGC Bertie would you do the SA option through your current clinic? having said that I hope the turkey baster does the job (I have no idea never done an IUI )
@leyshoja what a relief! That must have been an awful wait for you. so glad you got to hear the heartbeat!

@MGC Bertie bt is 17th but AF due on 10th. We've amazingly had 100% thaw rate so far so still have 4 frosties left, but they're only little 2dayers so I'm sure that helps. Congrats on being PUPO, I think trying IUI is a great idea and yep, makes perfect sense to work with gravity rather than against it. I've never liked having to jump out of bed right after transfer for that reason, but it's like a production line in our clinic most days.

Bongley....yes, if this "turkey basting" doesn't work, then I will stay with my clinic for the SA option, even though they charge a fee of $1000. My GP is not very onboard with the whole IVF thing, wouldn't do some tests that I wanted last year, and the IVF clinic is just so convenient in that I don't have to explain things. My FS will write all the prescriptions, do the BTs and USs, and have easy supply of sharps containers, sterile wipes etc.

But yes, I have never done an IUI before, but it was just like a pap smear. It wasn't even done in the sterile room where the embryo transfers are done, so no ultrasound or anything. It was done by a nurse who I've never seen there before, and I really thought after two years I knew everyone at the clinic!! I'm guessing she specialises in IUIs, hence why I'd never seen her before.

Nereid... so when they thawed out your 2 dayers, did they grow them to 3 or 5 days before the transfer, or put them straight back in as 2dt? Yes, my clinic always just makes us get up after embryo transfer, but when I queried that years ago the FS said it's squished in the lining so it's not going to move or fall out. But with swimming sperm, I guess the idea is so they don't have to swim too hard up******!!

Leyshoja.... I just don't know what to recommend, as I've never been there, so hopefully someone else will jump in with some good ideas. Perhaps ring your clinic tomorrow and ask about you worrying that the heart rate is low, and see what they say. I know we're all stress-heads, but we all have good cause!!

I'm sorry you are having such a stressful time. Hoping your next scan shows a strong increased HR. XX

@leyshoja hope you can get reassurance from a more reliable source today x

@MGC Bertie frosties transferred at 2 days. As I understand it my FS thinks the best place for them is in utero, and that while blasties may increase chances there are some that will make it when transferred early that wouldn't have made it in the lab. We will try some blasties if we do a second cycle.

Yes, I know in my head its ok to run around right after transfer, but my heart still says: just lay here a little bit longer..maybe hang upside down for a bit...etc
