Default Ideas for one handed activities

DS (3yrs) has stitches in his hand and it is bandaged so is unusable atm. He is getting SO frustrated. He is trying to build with blocks but keeps knocking them over because he is using his less dominate hand. Being a typical 3yr old he doesn't want any help. He wants to go outside but everything he usually does outside like sand and water play is off limits at the moment.

    Need some ideas please.

Craft? Maybe stick a big sheet of paper down (so it can't move around) and give him some finger paints that he can easily put his whole hand into ( like on a plastic lid) ... Or a big pot of clag and some easy to stick down things like leaves, feathers, sticks, etc?

Otherwise I'm at a loss. Hopefully he adapts to it soon for both your sakes!

How about some straight plastic car race track, propped up on a pillow on the floor, and a big tub of matchbox cars. He can let them go down the track one at a time. Should be able to manage with one hand, poor little guy, must be frustrating for him...
