I'm 23 weeks, recently had my 20 week scan & was told everything was okay.. Then they called me back in - turns out our baby has grown an extra valve on the heart, this is often consistent with Down Syndrome. Thing is, our baby has not one other market, normal thickness if neck fold, nasal bone ok etc
I've been told the risk is 4 times increased our risk for DS. Currently waiting on Harmony test results & then the cardiologist pediatrician will look at the heart at 26 weeks. I can't get it out of my head, I feel sick
Does anyone know of a situation like this & the baby turned out okay & without DS?

I can't really help with your specific situation.
But my DD was diagnosed with a severe heart defect at 20 weeks along. It was a pretty bleak diagnosis. I didn't do further testing with amnio etc... Just a personal choice.
My daughter was born.... has had two heart surgeries (more to come)... was diagnosed with a rare genetic syndrome when she was about 4 weeks old.
I won't lie. .. It's been scary. ..stressful. .. busy. ..emotional. ... so many things. But she's about to turn 2 and is the most cheeky amazing little girl.
Big hugs. ..I can only the stress your under. It's a very scary time. I remember it very well. I'm here if you need to chat or anything. xo.
Here's a pic of my little miracle.
