What does this even mean?! I get my urine checked every week and it has been good so far until today when I was told I had 'traces of protein'. I get it checked at a small town health service and have an ob appointment on Monday.
I woke up early with a sore belly and had to have a shower which I spent most of it vomiting after which I have become friends with the toilet for the other end. I'm too scared to eat anything for fear of an explosion at either or both ends.
I'm keeping hydrated but I dunno what to do? Should I just ride it out or should I go to see the maternity unit? I don't really know if this is 'normal' (I'm 33 weeks now) or something I should be worried about. I have felt the baby sporadically although it really only moves around in the evening and night mostly.
Blah if I can't even determine what the best thing to do in this situation-what am I gunna do when baby gets here?!

I probably should mention I have normal blood pressure and no headaches or anything. Could my symptoms be a UTI maybe??

Did the vomitting, etc only start up today?
Could it be a bug?
I know if I get dehydrated I can get a UTI which happens rarely but I have a friend who gets them more often. Protein in the urine can be a UTI or if accompanied by other symptoms P-E, but you say that you don't have other symptoms.
Not quite enough info to base anything on so perhaps give the maternity ward a call and let them know your situation and what you should do. Hope it passes soon Chillies x.

When they told you that there was protein in your urine did they refer you on to a gp? If it is a UTI then you may need anti-biotics to get rid of it as it can quickly progress.

I would call your hospital and ask there advice. Might be worth going in and getting some monitoring and bloods done.
