Default How am I going to get through the day?

I'm having that periodical moment where I wonder, why on earth did I have children? I've posted to the 2 year old area, but I'm fast feeling like I'm losing energy and should be sitting in the corner chewing on my hair.

How on earth do I get through this awful awful stage with my sanity? Honestly I'm absolutely buggered and would love nothing more to be somewhere else.

I know that feeling so well. The truth is - you just will! When I have days like that I break it down into small chunks - just get through breakfast, just get through til nap time etc. And I often try to bring out something new with DS so the novelty will keep him a little more engaged than usual, so...a new DVD, make some playdough, fill a box with stuff etc. My biggest winner was my $2 clipboard and sticky dots from Cheap as Chips - that kept DS entertained for aaaages, and all I has to do was sit near him so I could help him to get the stickers off sometimes!

But I know you know all that and are just venting...just lower your standards a bit for the day - put on the TV if you need, take lots of breaks and breathe x

ETA I just saw what section this is posted in. If you are feeling this way more often than not, it might be worth having a chat to a GP for some support, or to your hubby to see if life can be managed slightly differently to give you a little more down time. Don't let yourself get to a point that's hard to come back from.

Hugs xx feel your pain. I often have days like this.

Playing outside with water always calms my kids down.

Everyday is like that for me until my husband walks in the door. I struggle. If he tells me he's doing overtime i instantly have a meltdown.

I'm not sure how old your kids are but I fill the bath up let her play or the sea shell let her play for as long as possible. She isn't a tv kid het unfortunately or toys.

I just let her do whatever with Lego, and my kids love the pram so I spend ALL day walking

I feel your pain. My 2 year old is screaming for a good percentage of the day lately. Then my 3 month old joins in and I want to run. I asked her today what she wanted for lunch - cue screaming and throwing herself on the floor screaming. So much fun 😫

Oh I feel your pain OP. Raising kids is a tough gig but remember you're not alone and this will pass. Some days I wonder why I had a child lol...thats terrible because I love and adore my DD but gosh they are mini life suckers some days. We've all been there. Be kind on yourself on days like these 😊
