I personally like to take inspiration from some of the world's most unfortunate surnames of all time. The surnames Squatpump, Sackrider, Sharts, Mangina & Cobbled!ck. Any first name will go well with them

I use my real name but I'm pretty careful about who I add and my settings are friends only for everything.
Having said that, I had a friend with the same problem as you, she was told she needed to set up a Facebook account for a uni course. She refused, as signing up would mean agreeing to their terms and conditions, which she didn't. When she complained to the uni it turned out that they're not actually allowed to require you to have a Facebook account as that's not part of the university system and it's a personal choice whether you use it or not.
