I ask because I have a laparoscopy booked in a month but apparently this scan assists in determining where the endometriosis is.

I have been told I have polycystic ovaries, but I don't have PCOS and I probably have endomestriosis even though I have no endo symptoms at all.

When I did a hysteroscopy I noticed when they took a photo close to my ovaries there was this white cloudy imagine. When I asked what that was I was told it was close to the ovary. Is the white thick layer normal?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm having fertility issues, but all my levels seem fine. Not sure why they suspect endometriosis but if it gets me a bfp im happy to do it.

For those of you who did a laparoscopy, how long after a failed IVF cycle did you do it? Do you have to wait a while?

Thanks @Heyside for the link to the abbreviations. There's so many!
@kylez83 hope your numb thigh clears up soon. What did your doctor say about it?
@Liz8585 glad to hear the pain has settled down. And good that there is no endo or blocked tubes. It sucks you have to do a police check. It's not fair on people who desperately want a baby whereas any old Joe can have a baby with no questions asked.
@nightowlsurprise never had a sonovaginography before. What is it?

Can I ask what is ovarian drilling? I've never heard of it before.

@ezzd - Ovarian drilling is a procedure for women with PCOS hun, it helps ovulation as it decreases the thick outer layer that develops around our ovaries and stops some of the hormone production. It is also is thought to put the ovaries into survival mode and to start them working as they should. I had the procedure and around 10 holes were drilled into each ovary (sounds more painful/gruesome than it is).

Thanks for explaining it. It does sound painful but hopefully it does what is intended and kick starts the ovaries
