Do I need to register with centrelink to get the childcare benefit if my child is starting daycare for the 1st time?
I called centrelink and an automated message said I did not have to tel them whem my child starts a new daycare it will automatically go through the daycare.
But then today the director at the centre asked if I had registered??

Yes you need to register the first time. From memory, I think your day care needs your centrelink customer numbers.
