Were heading to North Queensland in November ( Cairns and surrounds) and obviously need to see the reef. I'm confused by all the different tours lol what one is best for 2 adults and a 15 month old.
Ps any other suggestions on what to see

Is the pontoon any good?

We went with great adventures a few years ago, a full day tour with a stop at green island and lunch plus a few hours of snorkelling at their pontoon. This was pre kids but there were lots of kids on the boat. I think the snorkelling is slightly better off the pontoon because it's more remote so you see more (than we did off the islands).

I also vote to Green Island. Visiting this place is the very good idea in order to see incredible and unforgettable things.

I just got back from a week in Port Douglas, it's such a beautiful part of the world! We did a full day snorkelling tour that left from PD and went to the agincourt reef (outer reef). It was spectacular but something like that probably would not be very good/suitable for a toddler as we were just snorkelling off the boat all day, there was nowhere to walk around or see anything unless you were in the water. One of the tours that stops on a pontoon would probably be best as there are also other things to do like glass bottom boat rides as well as snorkelling.
You can do rainforest tours which are quite cool as well (probably would be a very long day for a toddler though) or just drive yourself to the Daintree discovery centre to have a look around. You can also go to the Cairns zoo - you can have the opportunity to cuddle a koala there the wildlife habitat in Port Douglas was also great, a bit quieter than the cairns zoo and they also have koala experiences, plus you can hand feed their wallabies and kangaroos.
