I've got 4 kids and I'm an older mum. I am now working and with child support, a bit of FTB and my work I think I can afford a mortgage. I feel it would be good to have my own home so that when the kids grow up I have somewhere secure to live. I was a stay at home mum for a long time so have virtually non existent super. Have any of you single mums got a mortgage and bought your own home while single? Was it hard to get a loan and was it hard to manage payments? Any advice would be appreciated. I wouldn't be able to afford as big a house as I am renting.
