Id like to be nanny/nanna but I guess its really up to the kids! My step dads mum wanted to be called Babushka but none of us could say it so she ended up being called Obuk and now my kids (so her great grankids- the woman is in her late 50's!!), call her Okibuk

I don't have a preference. I'll leave that up to my child.

My parents annoyed me when I was pregnant by being reluctant to adopt traditional grandparent titles, all because they didn't want to feel 'old' (note that they were both close to 60 years old at the time).

I'm not going to be a pain like that!

I would want Nanna, that's what my mum is. DH would probably be Pop or Granddad, up to him I guess!

MIL is Grandmum by choice, not Grandma but specifically Grandmum - I find that bizarre!

My MIL was similar - took forever to choose which variation of the grandma title she wanted because my mum was already "Nanny" (from my niece and nephew) and she wanted that but didn't want to confuse the baby. I explained that I grew up with 2 sets of grandparents and called both Nana and Pop and was never confused, so did her son (my hubby), so we didn't mind of she wanted to be Nanny too. One day in a huff she decided she would just have to be Nana coz Nanny is already taken *rolls eyes*.

I would be Nana or Nanny unless my kids had a preference for their kids to call me something else. I personally think of Granny or Grandma being like the super old, white haired lady from the golden girls. Truth be told, I probably will be the typical crocheting, baking, old school grandmother because I love doing those things now, but don't want to feel like an old lady.

My mum chose "Grammy". She thought she was too young for Grandma, Nanna etc. My dad is Grandad. I love hearing my nephew (2) saying grandad. It's very cute.
