    Default Cheap skate or Not...WDYT

    DS is going to a Bday 6 year old's party tomorrow do you think $20 in a card cheap or Not...
    He's only being going to this new school for a few months...

    $20 is fine. I'd probably only spend that much on a gift for a kids party anyway.

    I think that is fine. I usually only spend $20-$30 on school friends birthday presents as in the early years they are invited to so many parties it gets expensive.

    This for me too, so no OP I wouldn't think you were a cheap skate at all for that amount.

    My DS is in prep and been invited to so many parties his year, if I spent $20 on each I'd be broke!! I only spend up to $15

    definitely not cheap. I usually spend around $15 for school friends.

    I am the cheapskate one when it comes to presents. DD has just had 6 birthday parties in the past 8 weeks. Four of the presents were smiggle textas and a colouring book. The textas were on sale for half price so I paid $8.00 instead of $16 and the colouring books were half price at $2.00, so I spent $10 per present even though the actual value was $20.
