I have had the mirena inserted today, not for contraception, but because my periods were really painful and heavy and would last anywhere from 3 days to 9 days. I cant give you any feedback other than on the insertion. It was slightly uncomfortable and a little crampy, but really not all that much worse than a pap smear for me. If I remember I will give you some feedback in a few months as to how I've found it in terms of my period and whether it reduces bleeding/pain etc.
