You need to go to the centerlink website and fill out the online application for ppl.
You shouldn't have any problems qualifying.
Theytake about 3 weeks to send you an answer to confirm that you will get it
They do all the rest with your employer.
You just need to tell them of your pregnancy 4 weeks prior to leaving work.
Keep in mind for finances, that the ppl may not start (backpay from due date), for up to 10 weeks after birth

Oh and I just noticed your due date. You won't be able to apply until oct 20 (3mths before due date)
Same for your partner. Apply 3 months before you want pay to begin

Get a confinement letter from your doc/midwife, it just says you are pregnant & due on whatever date, my work & hubby's work needed this to book the leave.

I think you need to talk to HR at your work place ASAP. They may have policies that you need to comply with

You can receive work maternity leave and government ppl at the same time. Both are generally paid through your employer. Maternity leave will be from when you stop work and ppl from when bub is born ( or you can pick a start date up to a year after bub is born)

Once you've done the application online download the Families app (iPhone) and once you get your paperwork at the hospital (proof of birth) you can submit it through there. That's what we did from memory and it was all approved and payments started within about 3 weeks.
