A friend was posting some beautiful dresses on fb this morning from online retailer Lindy Bop. Could be worth checking out!

If you have a local buy swap sell on Facebook you could try there. I've sold a few of my formal type dresses to people who have been looking for them.

I've also brought off eBay and gumtree and asked the buyer to express post and had no probs.

Lindy Bop is in the UK and some things have taken longer than the 3 weeks that OP needs it in, but there are some Australian stockists Their sizing is really hit and miss though, so definitely a brand you have to check your measurements before ordering.

Ok - lots of suggestions for you!

In Myer, Howard Showers goes up to a very generous size 18 (I normally wear a size 18 - 20 on bottom, 16ish on top, and the dress I got today is a stretchy size 12) and they've got some stunning and well priced formal dresses at the moment - I brought one today from the city store for a black tie event, long with long sleeves, reduced down to $75 from $300.

Lots of colours too. There are a couple of other brands at Myer like Charlie Brown that, while not 'plus sized' are generously sized and go up to 18, so you'd definitely be fine with them.

The other option is Ti Kiero boutique in Maribynong, they are open on Saturday. They have a website too - gorgeous stuff!

Lastly, if you get in quickly, you could order from Style and Substance (Google their site). I've bought a few Kiyonna dresses from there and loved them. If you call them direct and ask the owner to express post it, it should get to you the following day. Just one piece of advice if you shop with them - lots of the clothes are American with American sizing, so definitely check the size chart before you pick your size!

Whoops - bit of a novel, but I know how rough it is trying to find non-tacky and non-matronly dresses if you're over a size 16! Good luck and I'm sure you'll find something stunning - there are lots of beautiful dresses if you know where to look.
